Commemorative Coins Add comments

I collect coins so when my papa passed away inherited his whole coin collection and i found this coin. so i looked it up, but the book was for the year 2005,and i know its worth more now. THE COIN IS ALSO PROOF, IT’S NEVER BEEN TAKEN OUT OF THE CASE THAT IT CAME WITH WHEN HE BOUGHT IT!

  1. Taiping Says:

The value depends more on the price of gold at the time you sell it. The coin has a little less than a 1/4 oz. of pure gold. Most of the modern gold commemoratives sell for there gold value except for a few that have real low mintage’s. such as Smithsonian $5 mintage 9,068. Your coin had a mintage of 164,690 for the uncirculated version and 46,899 for the proof version. With gold going up and down daily your best bet is to call a couple of dealers and see what the offer is at that time. It would be best to keep it for gold is going up but keep an eye on the spot price.

As of today, Gold is at $1,165.00 [US] per once.
Boy are we in trouble with gold being that high.
America is the modern day Titanic, and have we hit one big ice burg that will sink us for sure.
    Good Luck!
    Happy Holidays!
