If a pirate buried a chest full of gold coins in the 1700s how much more would they be worth now than they?
How much were they worth then? Has the value of the gold increased significantly since then. What value would the age and scarcity of the coins themselves add. Suppose the pirate says "I’m going to come back in three hundred years and dig up this treasure because it will be worth_______times as much then. What would be a good number to put in the blank? More than a hundred?
This probably isn’t really an investing question but I couldn’t find a topic for old coins or buried treasure.
