Does anyone know where I can find a Penelope Stout commemorative coin?

Commemorative Coins Add comments

Penelope was the wife of Richard Stout, one of the founders of Middletown, NJ. I was told that there was a commemorative coin made depicting her rescue from an attack by a Native American chief, but I have only ever seen pictures. She’s a direct ancestor, and being able to find even a copy of the coin would be very meaningful. Does anyone know where I can find one?

  1. Ted Pack Says:

I got 2,980 hits in Google for

    Penelope Stout commemorative coin

but no one offering them for sale jumped up at me. You might or call write to all the coin dealers in Middletown to see if any of them have one. If it was minted recently, the chamber of commerce or town council office may have some.

Fate being what it is, someone whose wife was her 2nd cousin 7 times removed and now lives in Beloit will sell on on E-bay a week after you give up hope.
